More Peers Review Pitches

I attempted to provide thorough feedback to the three pitches in which I reviewed in a way which reflects greatly on the positives while nudging them in the right direction. I recognise the fear one may have of feedback especially in such early stages of a project so I wanted to take this into account as I made suggestions on how they could improve or better their research practices.

The pitches in which I reviewed were from Axel, who is dedicated to the study of farming sims in relation to the current standard of Stardew Valley, Nick, who will be working on TikToks regarding different battle royale style games, and Kyle, who is researching the importance of the early GTA games that have impacted the industry in terms of open 3d worlds. All of these DA’s and Pitches were extremely passionate which was incredibly admirable and honestly provided me with more motivation for my own DA.

By imitating a tutors position in assessing others pitches, I’ve been able to revise the holes I may have within my own. Each gave me the idea to incorporate other game franchises in my own analysis as well as helped me to take more consideration into the length and format my videos, which I only briefly touched on in my own pitch.

I attempted to structure my commentary to echo the necessities of the rubric however it was very hard to critically analyse while others were also doing the same with my own work. It was hard to point out all the faults when you can recognise the effort that has been put in, considering I have also been through the same process. In a way, I began to be blinded by the best in each rather than seeking the improvable.

I hope in the future I will be able to better confront the ways in which people can better their pitches and DA’s rather than focusing so much on the positives. I recognise the positives are good to point out but I feel I may have gone slightly overboard with the compliments.

Thank you so much to Axel, Nick and Kyle for allowing my to critic your work as it has really helped with my own research and reflection.
